After being diagnosed with stomach cancer, Brice Royer found himself wanting to connect with others to help lessen the feelings of being alone. He put an ad on Craigslist that read "unconditional love for $0." Little did he know how this small act of reaching out would touch so many lives.
Today is the big day!
Over this past year while sharing stories of all the amazing people in our world that are making a difference, I have been working on a gratitude line of products. These products have been developed with the core intention of "honoring yourself" and "honoring others."
Are you a lucky resident of Rhode Island?
If so.....HUGE kuddos to your state!
Currently the state of Rhode Island is encouraging students to participate in a contest to stand up against bullying while spreading kindness and love. Middle school students are encouraged to perform a random act of kindness and post a picture or video to Instagram.
Today my heart is so full with love as I join hands with some amazing people.
Glennon Doyle Melton, Marie Forleo, Elizabeth Gilbert, Brene Brown, Cheryl Strayed, Rob Bell, Valarie Kaur and Laverne Cox.
These beautiful people have created The Compassion Collective and they are calling on us to help them take back Mother's Day by mothering the motherless.
This Personal Hero, Stephen Steck, was found right in my back yard. His story is so motivating and inspirational...a true testament that the only limits we have are those that we put upon ourselves. A great example of living life to the fullest!
It's hard to imagine a world where clothes are a luxury. A world where it is not normal to peruse your closet each morning to determine which outfit you want to wear. Unfortunately there are many people who lack this basic need. Beautiful people whom I imagine are so very grateful even though they have little.
Recently I was very fortunate to connect with Stephen from Clothe The Naked. He is touching the lives of many of these people and is a definite Personal Hero doing his part to make a difference. I will let him tell you his story...
